Sunday School (2 – 5 years)
Giggles and laughter eminate from the first floor of the Education Building every Sunday Morning as almost 200 preschoolers experience Sunday School. Classes start at 9:15 and 10:45, allowing parents to attend Worship Service and Adult Sunday School. Each class has specially formed curriculum featuring God and his son Jesus. Children generally play a bit with age appropriate toys, circle-up for a lesson that features a Bible story, a simple verse, as well as a correlating craft. The group will then pray and return to playing with friends. Most of our curriculum is published by Lifeway Christian Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention. Play involves art, blocks, books, puzzles, music and nature that reinforce Christian values, attitudes and actions. Kelley Davis oversees all 16 Preschool Rooms for Sunday School. Her goal is for all preschoolers to associate God and church with happy feelings. She wants them to know God loves them and all people. Placement in the 2-5-year-old classes is based upon age guidelines provided by the Greenville County School District. Unless unusual circumstances exist, children are placed in classes based upon their age September 1st of that year.
