Brushy Creek Baptist Church offers a variety of Sunday Morning Bible Studies for single men and women that are open to all, regardless of their marital status.  The Singled Out Ministry also offers four classes specifically for singles, focusing on life-specific issues men and women face in today’s society. These classes are loosely divided by age, however participants should feel free to attend the class that suits their needs and comfort level best.   You do not have to be a Christian or member of Brushy Creek to attend.   For more information go to SingledOut.cc

Singles I (20’s-30’s, 10:45am/The Vault)

This class is about variety, not only in its teaching and discussion, but with every element of its Sunday morning /files/Images/Singles/singles I.JPGexperience.  Members keep a good balance of fellowship, Bible study and outreach inside and outside of class.  In class, they discuss and study topics relevant to every area of single adult living.  In recent months, they’ve delved into spiritual life with "Wired: For a Life of Worship," "The Blazing Center: The Supremacy of God's Glory in All Things," and "Prayer."   During each week members gather for social events or their outreach coffee house called "@ The Vault."  You’ll usually find a turn out of a couple of dozen members in class and at events.  Keeping with the class’s theme of variety and acceptance, members represent those who’ve never been married, some are divorced and others are single parents.  All are welcome.  Singles III-A meets each Sunday at 9:15 am in room E319 and Singles I-A meets at 10:45 am in The Vault.

Singles III (Any Age Co-ed, 9:15am/E319)

If you prefer our Contemporary style of worship at 10:45 ... meet us for Bible study at 9:15 in room E319.

Singles 1.5  (Co-ed 30's-40's, 10:45am/Room E107)

/files/Images/Singles/single friends.JPG          Active! That word best describes the Singles 1.5 Sunday School class led by Eric Hicks. The class is formatted for group discussion and applies Homiletics (come find out what that is!) in Scripture study.  Outside of church, members like to going camping, hiking and white water rafting. They recently went to Fontana Dam, NC. Service is also top of mind with this group. They help fellow church members with yard work and sponsor a multi-church Bible Study every second and fourth Friday of the month. If you are near 30-40 years of age, consider joining them at 10:45 in Room 107 of the Education building. Melanie says, "Our focus is on our daily walk with God in all the activities we put together, from class material to socials. We would love to include others who are looking for the same focus."

Singles II (Single Again/Single Parents Co-ed) 10:45am/E319

Some find being single again in middle-age frightening, others find it invigorating.  No matter your stance, in Singles/files/Images/Singles/singles II.JPG II, you’ll find a group that understands what it’s like to balance bills, a job, aging parents, possibly kids and dating again at a point in life when so many others have a spouse for support.  The singles here are survivors, social, innovative and energetic.  They spend each week reaching out to each other and the community.   Each Sunday morning, they come together for a time of prayer and then dive into a topical study lead by Pat Bishop.  On Sunday afternoons, you’ll find some members attending DivorceCare, Brushy Creek Baptist Church’s support group for those in the middle of a separation or divorce.   The class holds monthly Salt & Light social gatherings to develop strong and lasting friendships.  They also assist with our Single Parent Ministry that helps single parents with home repairs, moving help, mentoring of children and Buddy Groups.   One of Brushy Creek Baptist Church’s most dynamic mission projects meeting immediate needs is rooted in this class: the Angel Food Ministry.  Sinlges II members find by reaching out to help others, they too are on the road to healing.  Class member Martha Goodlett at marthagoodlett@charter.net would love to answer any questions you may have.  You don’t have to be a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church to attend.
